Low Country Boil

Alpha-Gal safe Low Country Boil with shrimp, corn, potatoes, turkey sausage and bold Southern flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • gallons Water
  • 3 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning (2 tbsp if using the liquid Old Bay Seasoning)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 lemon Juice of one lemon
  • 2-3 Red potatoes per person, cut in halves
  • 2-3 3 inch long Corn on the cob per person
  • 2 lbs Turkey Smoked Sausage
  • 3-4 lbs Shrimp, fresh jumbo shell on

Equipment

  • 1 Large Pot
  • 1 Slotted spoon
  • Cutting board (to cut potatoes and meat)

Method
 

  1. Add water, lemon juice, salt and Old Bay Seasoning to a large pot.
    1½ gallons Water, Salt to taste, 1 lemon Juice of one lemon, 3 tbsp Old Bay Seasoning
  2. Once water comes to a boil add the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes.
    2-3 Red potatoes per person, cut in halves
  3. Next add the corn and cook for 5 minutes (start the 5 minute timer as soon as you add the corn).
    2-3 3 inch long Corn on the cob per person
  4. Next add the turkey sausage and cook for 3 minutes (this is already cooked you’re just heating it up).
    2 lbs Turkey Smoked Sausage
  5. Lastly, add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the shrimp is good and pink. If overcooked the shrimp will be chewy and tough.
    3-4 lbs Shrimp, fresh jumbo shell on
  6. Pour off the water using a strainer and serve immediately. Often times this dish is poured onto a plastic covered table and served with tongs.
