This is huge news! For years doctors have denied knowing that Lyme’s disease exists. There’s no such thing. We can’t treat you because it doesn’t exist. Friends and acquaintances were flying to other countries to find doctors who would support their horrible, life altering symptoms of Lyme’s disease. This is a debilitating disease. Changing people’s lives. Drastically.
Then comes Alpha-Gal. Doctors would say “what’s that?”, “I’ve never heard of that.” Then it was “Oh, I’ve heard of that and your blood work shows you have it but I know nothing about it.” “Sorry, you’re on your own.” (Check out my story here) So similar things were happening with Alpha-Gal. People were traveling long distances to find doctors who would support them through their symptoms. The drastic, life altering symptoms.
For years, those with Alpha-Gal have learned through trial and error. Thankfully, through the internet only in recent years, there were support groups that developed. Ways for people to support one another, give experiences, offer advice, suggest brands that were safe. I’ve learned so much from others and been able to help others as well with information about ingredients they may react to based on pictures they share, etc. It’s been eye opening to say the least.
So this article is BIG. Lyme’s disease is being acknowledged. Finally being recognized. Alpha-Gal is not only being given attention but discussions are occurring about how quickly Alpha-Gal is spreading. How many people, all of the sudden, are testing positive for a “mammal allergy.”
Higher ups are beginning to question, people are sharing concerns of how and why it is spreading so quickly. Studies are being done on several different levels to find medicines and cures for Lyme’s disease, treatments for Alpha-Gal, etc. But now, for the government to say “we’re going to put money towards these things,” this is BIG.
