The best dairy free ice cream ever! As most of us who are dairy free know, it’s really hard to find a good, almost normal, ice cream. I’ve had ice creams that literally had no flavor. Ice creams that said they were dairy free that I still reacted to and ice creams that are more like an ice slushy than ice cream. One thing I do know is that I wasn’t willing to give up looking until I found (or created) something delicious and as close to the original as I could get.
A few years ago I found one I loved that was amazing. I bought and ate it regularly but then all the stores in my area quit selling it. Seems it’s still sold in the western US but nowhere near me. So I was sad and began my search again.
Somewhere around 2021, I started seeing my milk brand ice cream showing up on shelves at Publix, Kroger and the Sprouts near me. I was excited because it was a trusted milk brand that I used, but I was worried that it may be a bit icy just because of it being oat milk. However, this stuff is amazing y’all! The creamiest, most flavorful dairy free ice cream I’ve ever had and all allergen and vegan friendly!

Here it is…. Oatly ice cream is my new go to, my absolute favorite! It’s creamy, full of flavor and low calorie at that!

I’ve had the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry and can attest to them all being creamy and delicious! The vanilla pairs extremely well with warm, chocolate, fudge-like gluten free brownies straight out of the oven! Brownie recipe coming soon!!
STRAWBERRY can’t be beat though! I kid you not, it is the perfect combination of cream and strawberries and makes a perfect after dinner treat, mid-afternoon snack or late night sweet. At about 400 calories for the entire container I don’t feel bad about eating it (I do limit myself to half most of the time!
